Must See
Twenty minutes from the hotel, near Pebble Beach, the site of a former sardine cannery is now home to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The top-notch facility was the first in the world to grow live California Giant Kelp and housed the first captive Great White.
Must Do
Saunter through Cannery Row and appreciate its revitalized architecture. Once home to a multitude of sardine canneries, it is now a very popular waterfront recreation destination. This is definitely a must visit for the hotel's guests while in Marina, CA.
What's New
Every year, the Marina Air Faire attracts crowds celebrating vintage and experimental aircraft, which attendees can ride in, for a fee, should they be so daring. The Festival of the Winds paints the sky with dozens of colorful kites and hang gliders.
Don't Go Home Without
Since the hotel is near Pebble Beach, it makes sense to make the trip to 17-Mile Drive. Tracing the majestic Pacific coastline, travelers will pass famous golf courses, mansions and the "Lone Cypress." There are several turnouts to stop and take photos.
Tips
If something smells fishy, don't be alarmed; be hungry. Phil's Fish Market in Moss Landing (15 minutes from the hotel's location in Marina, CA) has "roes" upon "roes" of fresh fish, prawns and mollusks of all varieties. There is even a restaurant on-site.
